News 08:03 22/04/2015
(vasep.com.vn) Total export value in the first two months of 2015 reached US$ 58 million, up 10% year on year.

Exporters strongly focused to the market of South Korea. By the end of February 2015, mollusk exported to South Korea valued US$ 24.2 million, up 29% year on year. South Korea is number 1 exporting market, accounting for 41.7% of total export value.

From 2014, it is harder to export to Japan as the yen exchange rates against other currencies fluctuated in addition to high inventory levels.

In contrast to the situation in the early 2014, mollusk exports to the EU decreased by 1.2%. Italy, Germany and the Netherlands are biggest markets in the EU, exports to these markets accounted for 8%, 1% and 0.8%, respectively in total exports from Vietnam.

It is forecast that in the first half of the year, exports to Italy will decline slightly. Export to Spain will slow down in Q.I/2015 then go up again in the second quarter. Exports into ASEAN, China - Hong Kong and Taiwan will increase steadily. Meanwhile, exports to the US, Australia and Russia will remain unstable in the coming quarters.

Shrimp exports in the first two months of 2026: China drives growth, lobster surges

 |  08:42 16/03/2026

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In February 2026, Vietnam’s shrimp exports reached nearly USD 310 million, up 17% year-on-year. Cumulatively for the first two months of the year, shrimp export value totaled USD 690 million, an increase of 20% compared with the same period last year. Compared with the 22% growth recorded in January, the pace of increase in February slowed somewhat, reflecting seasonal factors as the Lunar New Year holiday partially disrupted processing and shipment activities. Nevertheless, the nearly 20% growth in the first two months indicates that shrimp orders from Vietnam are maintaining a more positive trend than in the same period last year.
