According to the General Statistics Office, the country's seafood production in July 2019 is estimated at 740,500 MT, up 4.6% over the same period in 2018, including fish production reached 539,700 MT, up 5.4%; shrimp out put hit 97,800 MT, up 1.5%; other aquatic products touched 103,000 MT, up 3.5%.
Aquaculture production in July is estimated at 400,000 MT, up 4.7% over the same period in 2018, of which fish production reached 267,100 MT, up 6%; shrimp output touched 87,600 MT, up 0.9%. Pangasius production in July is estimated at 127,700 MT, up 6.3% compared to the same period in 2018, of which Dong Thap reached 44,500 MT, up 5.3%; An Giang achieved 38,700 MT, up 10.1%.
The production of black tiger shrimp in July is estimated at 34,100 MT, up 2.5% over the same period last in 2018, of which Bac Lieu reached 14,000 MT, up 9.2%; Tra Vinh touched 2,200 MT, up 15.8%.
Capture production in July 2019 is estimated at 340,500 MT, up 4.5% over the same period in 2018, of which fish volume reached 272,600 MT, up 4.9%; shrimp production hit 10,200 MT, up 6.3%. Marine capture in July is estimated at 324,300 MT, up 4.7% over the same period in 2018, of which fish reached 261,900 tons, up 4.9%; shrimp achieved 9,100 MT, up 5.8%.
Generally, in the first 7 months of 2019, seafood production is estimated at 4,521,000 MT, up 5.6% over the same period in 2018, of which aquaculture production reached 2,321,200 MT, up 6.3%; capture production hit 2,199,800 MT, an increase of 4.9% (marine production reached 2,099,600 MT, an increase of 5.1%).
