(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Ca Mau Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, from now to 2020 as well as to 2030, the area for shrimp farming in the province will remain at 280,000 hectares.
However, the shrimp production expected to increase sharply, in which, by 2020, the output expected to reach 280,000 MT, an increase of 130,000 MT compared to the current time. By 2030, the output will be 415,000 MT, an increase of 265,000 MT from now. The export value will increase from US$1 billion (now) to US$3 billion by 2030.
In order to achieve the above objectives, the local authorities have actively implemented the project on raising productivity, quality and sustainable development of shrimp farming in the period from 2017 to 2020 and the orientation towards 2030.
Accordingly, Ca Mau province implemented 10 solutions in total. Among them, the locality promotes the receipt, transmission and application of seed production technology as well as technical process of shrimp culture; and pays attention to environmental monitoring and disease prevention.
The local authorities will also complete technical procedures for shrimp culture. Accordingly, the province in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology boosts high-yielding farming methods such as improved extensive, semi-intensive and super-intensive farming.
In addition, Ca Mau province strengthens the control, management and protection of the environment as well as select qualified enterprises to provide quality seed and raw materials.
