Ca Mau: Seafood exports are soaring

Export turnover in May and the first 5 months of 2021 increased over the same period, mainly thanks to high export turnover of aquatic products (especially shrimp products).

The large-scale deployment of Covid-19 vaccination in the US and EU helps people gradually feel secure and return to tourism, entertainment and public activities. As a result, shrimp demand for the restaurant and food service segments has gradually recovered.

On the other hand, Vietnam's shrimp exports continue to be favorable because many other shrimp producing countries are still facing difficulties because of the Covid-19 epidemic (India, Thailand,...).

In addition, the advantages from free trade agreements that Vietnam has signed (CPTPP, EVFTA, UKVFTA) continue to create many advantages when export turnover through markets increases, in which exports to markets: UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan increased sharply over the same period.
