Vietnam currently ranks third after the US and Russia in whitefish export value to Japan. Thanks to tariff incentives and the ability to meet Japan’s strict standards, Vietnamese pangasius continues to record a stable and positive growth trend.

In May 2025, shrimp exports to Japan reached $49 million, a 14% increase compared to the same period last year. For the first five months of 2025, exports to this market totaled over $218 million, reflecting a robust 19% growth year-on-year.

According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, Vietnam's clam export value has grown continuously in the first 4 months of 2025. In the first 4 months of 2025, the cumulative export turnover of this product group reached more than 37 million USD, an increase of 44% over the same period in 2024.

The United Kingdom officially became a member of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) on December 15, 2024. This is expected to bring significant benefits for seafood enterprises, particularly in terms of tariffs and intra-bloc origin regulations - especially for tuna products.

This is the highest growth rate in the past 6 months and the month with the highest export value since the beginning of the year. Cumulatively in the first 7 months of 2024, Vietnam’s seafood exports reached $5.28 billion, up 7% compared to the same period 2023.

Vietnam's shrimp exports grew in the first half of this year, but the market is facing competition from other countries in the world.

Agro-forestry-aquatic product exports raked in 34.27 billion USD in the first seven months of 2024, up 18.8% from the same period last year, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
