Export value reached USD 150 million, marking a 66% increase compared to February 2024. Cumulative pangasius export revenue for the first two months of the year totaled USD 284 million, up 11% year-on-year.

Cumulatively, by December 15, 2024, export turnover to this market decreased by 18% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching over USD 30 million. With this decline, Italy is no longer Vietnam's largest tuna import market within the EU bloc.

Shrimp exports in July recorded the highest value since the beginning of the year and this is also the month when Vietnam's shrimp exports saw the best growth rate since February this year. In the first 7 months of this year, the shrimp export turnover reached over $2 billion, up 8% compared to the same period last year.

Hong Kong alone imported over $7 million worth of pangasius from Vietnam, down 11% compared to the same period last year.

In May 2024, the export value of this product group increased by 52%. Cumulatively, in the first five months of 2024, Vietnam's oyster export value reached nearly 7 million USD, up 31% compared to the same period in 2023.

Exports of surimi and fish cake from Vietnam continued to decline in the first quarter of 2024.The export value of this product group reached nearly USD 20 million, down 25% compared to the same period in the previous year. Accumulated export turnover in the first three months of the year reached nearly USD 57 million, down 18% compared to the same period in 2023.

Vietnam's total tuna export revenue for the first three months of 2024 was $215 million, up 19% from the same time in 2023 but down 17% from 2022. It is anticipated that tuna exports may miss the billion-dollar mark as in 2022 at this rate and the difficulties the business faces.
