Support for fish farmers suffer from disaster and epidemic

(vasep.com.vn) In November 8th 2012, the Prime Minister signed to issue the Decision No. 49/2012/QĐ-TTg amending and supplementing the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 142/2009/QĐ-TTg on supportive policy for fish farmers in the regions affected by natural disaster and epidemic to recover their production.

Accordingly, 1) The government will aid farmers VND3 – 7 million per hectare with their finfish farming area lost from 30 to 70 percent; with over 70 percent loss, the government will support VND7-10 million per hectare.

2) extensive shrimp farming area with loss of 30 – 70 percent is relieved VND2-4 million per hectare; loss of over 70 percent, the state will provide aid of VND4-6 million per hectare.

3) intensive black tiger shrimp farming area is funded VND4-6 million per hectare if it is lost 30 – 70 percent; VND6-8 million per hectare is supported for loss of over 70 percent.

4) The area of intensive whiteleg shrimp farming and pangasius rearing damaged from 30 to 70 percent is financed VND10-20 million per hectare; loss of over 70 percent, it will be sponsored VND20-30 million per hectare.

5) clam farming area suffering from 30 – 70 percent damage is supported VND20-40 million per hectare; with over 70 percent loss, it will be financed VND40-60 million per hectare.

The Decision will take effect as of December 30th 2012.
