(vasep.com.vn) On November 26th 2012, National Agro–Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD) sent seafood processors and exporters to EU the official letter No 2035/QLCL-CL1 on changing form of health certificate granted for fish consignments exported to EU.
On November 5th 2012, European Commission issued the Regulation No 1012/2012 amending some Annexes of the Regulation (EC) No 2074/2005 and Regulation (EC) No 1251/2008 and changing the form of animal health certificate granted for fish consignments exported to EU:
1. The form of animal health certificates for fish consignments exported to EU intended for human consumption are replaced by the form set out in Annex 1 of the Regulation 1012/2012. The changes are as follows:
- EU does not accept fishery products infected Epizootic ulcerative syndrome (EUS) in Section II.2.1
- Amending and supplementing HS code for fish, fishery products exported to EU for human consumption.
- Offering some small adjustments on names or annotations of fishery products.
2. Changing the form of health certificate granted for live fish exported to EU. Live fish are used for aquaculture, farming or ornament. (Part 3, Annex 2, Regulation 1012/2012).
EU’s new form of health certificate will be applied since November 26th 2012 and its transitional period lasts until March 1st 2013.
To avoid obstacles for seafood exporters to EU, NAFIQAD requested processors and exporters to EU to update Regulation 1012/2012 and hold initiative in contacting with EU importers to solve problems happening in fish exports to EU.
