NAFIQAD supply information for FVO

(vasep.com.vn) In July 5th 2012, National Agro–Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD) has promulgated the official letter No. 1022/QLCL-CL1 and sent it to seafood enterprises, requesting them to provide information to reply for questions from inspectors of the Food and Veterinary Office (FVO).

Accordingly, in June 6th 2012, NAFIQAD received announcement from FVO, under the Directorate General for Health and Consumer Protection (DG-SANCO) of EU enclosed with its questions for upcoming inspection in Vietnam. During 11th - 20th September, 2012, two groups of delegates from FVO will travel to Vietnam:

- To inspect contaminants in animal and products of animal origin (farmed fish products and honey), including veterinary checks.

- To inspect the control system of food safety and hygiene on seafood and fishery products (except for live bivalve mollusks, echinoderms, tunicates and marine gastropods and frog) intended for export to EU

To have full information for replying questions from FVO delegates and building a working schedule for the delegates, through the official letter No. 1022/QLCL-CL1, NAFIQAD requested seafood processors intended for export their products to EU to collect data, reports on their seafood exports to EU in 2010, 2011.

NAFIQAD also asked Vietnam exporters to report their imported cargoes of raw material for processing and re-exporting to EU in 2010, 2011 as well as make a list of trading and producing facilities of raw fish providing for processors and exporters to EU.
