(vasep.com.vn) In March 23rd 2012, National Agro–Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD) has issued the official letter No. 409/QLCL - CL1 notifying new regulations of EU to seafood processors and exporters to EU.
Accordingly, European Commission (EC) announced three new regulations as follows:
- Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1276/2011 of 8th December 2011 amending Annex III to Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 as regards the treatment to kill viable parasites in fishery products for human consumption.
- Commission Regulation (EU) No. 16/2012 of 11th January 2012 amending and supplementing Annex II to Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 as regards the requirements concerning frozen food of animal origin intended for human consumption.
- Commission Regulation (EU) No. 28/2012 of 11th January 2012 laying down requirements for the certification for imports into and transit through EU of certain composite products and amending Decision 2007/275/EC and Regulation (EC) No. 1162/2009.
NAFIQAD requested seafood processors and exporters to EU that:
They must update and implement the above new regulations in seafood processing and exporting to EU. Composite consignments containing processed products of animal origin (livestock), dairy products, products in which over 50 percent of their ingredients are fishery products or eggs must ensure following conditions:
- The products must originate in the third countries which are allowed to export composite products of animal origin to EU.
- Producing facilities of animal originated products which are used as raw material to process composite products must be accepted by EU.
- The consignment must be enclosed with health certificate form set out in Annex I Regulation (EU) No. 28/2012 towards consignment imported directly into EU and set out in Annex II as regards consignment transited through EU.
