A sharp fall in the stocking of seeds at shrimp farms is likely to have a toll on the marine food production in the state.

The US has begun importing Myanmar saltwater prawns following the easing of sanctions, according to Myanmar exporters.

(vasep.com.vn) South Korea’s Animal, Plant and Fisheries Quarantine and Inspection Agency (QIA) decided to test the ethoxyquin contents in frozen shrimp shipments from Vietnam in one year from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2013.The level permitted by QIA is 0.01mg/kg.

In the report of the latest world’s 100 largest seafood companies 2014, Minh Phu Seafood ranks the 23 position thanks its high increase in revenue. These companies in the list of this year had revenues of nearly US$100 billion, up US$ 1.8 billion from 2013 report.

US retailer Hy-Vee is struggling to get its hands on shrimp, despite its diversified sourcing strategy, reports Jeanine Stewart of Undercurrent News.
