Increased trend of cephalopods prices exported to EU

During the first nine months of 2005

The decline was seen in main markets such as Japan (-2%), and Korea (-22%). Despite decreasing 2%, Vietnamese cephalopods exports share to Japan increased from 29% to 31% since the strong drop from others markets. Export volume to EU increased strongly, up 20% from the same period 2004, exports share to EU increased from 17% to 22% in 2005. EU more and more becomes a key buyer of Vietnamese cephalopods, of which main consumers are Italy, representing 68% of cephalopods exports to EU and Spain 16%.
