"For this reason the Seafood Inspection Program will revert back to the 2003 version of the Health Certificate until a final certificate can be agreed upon. SIP will supersede any 2005 format certificates as necessary free of charge. This will include a certificate of origin if requested by the exporter. SIP will also make available a generic letter of explanation if the Chinese border inspection post requires one," said a USDC spokesperson.

NOAA Fisheries will be sending a delegation to the PRC at the end of this month for the purpose of meeting with PRC officials on a range of issues including health certification format.
