VASEP releases the Poster "Panorama of Vietnam's seafood exports, 2016-2020"

To help Vietnamese seafood enterprises, partners and customers quickly and fully grasp the whole picture, capacity and potential of Vietnam's seafood production and export in a period of 5 years (2016-2020) with a In the form of small, compact and convenient documents, VASEP VPHH will release a poster "Panorama of Vietnam's seafood exports, 2016-2020" in August 2021.

With tables, figures, images and graphs with vivid and easy to understand illustrations, the Poster presents all data on the area and output of aquaculture, shrimp and pangasius; fishing output; Exporting aquatic products, shrimp, pangasius, tuna, squid, octopus, bivalve molluscs, crabs and marine fish to markets; Vietnam's position in the top list of export markets in the world, demand of import markets; In particular, the Poster provides detailed data on the names and export turnover of the top 100 seafood exporters and the Top 10 exporters of shrimp, pangasius and tuna for 5 consecutive years 2016-2020.

This is the first publication of VASEP on overview on Vietnam seafood exports in the form of an English language poster, printed on 2 sides with the size of 80cm x 90cm, suitable for folding as a pocket document or as a wall frame at different spaces.

Vietnam pangasius in China: Stable demand, intensifying competition

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first 10 months of 2025, Vietnam’s pangasius export value to China (including Mainland China and Hong Kong) reached $483 million, up 1% compared to the same period in 2024. October alone posted $73 million, a strong 19% increase year-on-year. The Chinese market currently accounts for nearly 27% of Vietnam’s total pangasius export value.

Vietnam’s lobster exports set for another strong surge in 2025

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to data from Vietnam Customs, the country’s lobster exports posted another strong month in October 2025, reaching $93 million - a 75% increase from the same month in 2024. This performance extends the sector’s impressive growth streak from earlier in the year, pushing cumulative exports for the first 10 months to $712 million, up an extraordinary 135% year-over-year. Within the product mix, green lobster remained the dominant driver, accounting for 98% of total export value, with $700 million recorded in the first 10 months - a 141% jump year-on-year. In contrast, exports of spiny lobster and other lobster varieties declined slightly by 22% and 1%, respectively, indicating that market demand is becoming increasingly concentrated on the most sought-after product line.
