After applying Global GAP standards to aquaculture unsuccessfully in the area of Pho Quang, Duc Pho district (Quang Ngai) in early 2010, Thuan Phuoc Corp has decided to cooperate with Truong Son JSC to practice Global GAP standards in Dien Mon white shrimp farming area of 150 ha in Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue).
Thuan Phuoc Corp and Truong Son JSC has applied shrimp farming standards of Global GAP to all three major farming areas in Hue including Dien Mon, Huong Dien and Dien Loc, however, only Dien Mon farming area is eligible for assessment registration of Global GAP with Bureau Veritas. Up to now, Dien Mon is the largest whiteleg shrimp farming area in Vietnam got this certificate.
Mr. Tran Van Linh – Chairman and General Director of Thuan Phuoc Corp said since 2008, the company has applied the international standards to prodution such as Global GAP, HACCP, BRC and IFC.
From 13th to 15th July, 2010, Bureau Veritas sent Spanish and Vietnamese experts to this farming area to assess. On 10th September, 2010, Dien Mon farming area was officially issued Global GAP Certificate by Bureau Veritas.
With the certificate, shrimp products of Thuan Phuoc Corp will be sold in many big and famous supermarkets in EU, Japan and the U.S. with the higher price of 5 – 15% than seafood products without the certificate.
Global GAP is considered as a “priority visa” for products of Thuan Phuoc Corp to joint in many different strict markets in the world – Mr. Linh said.

VASEP's Seafood Export Report for the third quarter of 2024 provides a comprehensive overview of Vietnam's seafood export performance in the first nine months, with impressive results reaching $7.2 billion—an increase of 9% over the same period last year. In the third quarter alone, seafood exports grew by 15%, totaling $2.8 billion. This growth is attributed to a recovery in demand and prices in key markets such as the U.S. and China, as well as the competitive advantage of value-added products in markets like Japan and Australia.
