Recently, Aquapesca Company (France) had a visit to understand Soc Trang’s shrimp industry and meet the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and processing plants. Aquapesca representative, Ms. Azmina Goulamaly Ibrahim, Chairman of Oceinde (holding group of Aquapesca) was deeply impressed by the quality of shrimp in Soc Trang.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nhiem, Chairman of MTSA, Aquapesca can cooperate to standardize the inputs and brand development of Soc Trang shrimp, in which Qualasa is the partner for technical solution consultation, collaborating with Soc Trang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and My Thanh Association of Shrimp. Qualasa is looking at cooperating to develop the commercial farm model with prestigious corporations in the world to improve farm management and brand development, which can affirm the shrimp products with high quality, traceability and environmental protection insurance. Mr. Nhiem said the efforts of Qualasa in the development of an integrated production chain will be a new catalyst to confirm the quality of shrimp in Soc Trang.
Mr. Xavier Bocquillet, Managing Director of Qualasa said, Qualasa will continue to implement the cooperation programs in various fields with prestigious partners including feed, seed, water solution and aquaculture techniques to apply all the best things in the integrated aquaculture model towards the sustainable development, thereby promoting the value of shrimp in Soc Trang particularly and in Vietnam generally.
Currently, Soc Trang has the adequate infrastructure, directly connected electricity to the farming areas and has an industrial shrimp farming zone that can be considered as the best in the country. In recent years, Aquapesca has not focused on increasing the output but mainly improving the quality. Accordingly, the traceability and sustainable development are important criteria that this group created the customer’s confidence. This is also the target that MTSA and black tiger farmers in the Mekong Delta want to cooperate.

VASEP's Seafood Export Report for the third quarter of 2024 provides a comprehensive overview of Vietnam's seafood export performance in the first nine months, with impressive results reaching $7.2 billion—an increase of 9% over the same period last year. In the third quarter alone, seafood exports grew by 15%, totaling $2.8 billion. This growth is attributed to a recovery in demand and prices in key markets such as the U.S. and China, as well as the competitive advantage of value-added products in markets like Japan and Australia.
