The plant is built on 3.5 hectare-area with production value of US$70-80 million per year. It is equipped with modern freezing system and 3,000 MT-cold storage with the design of -23 degrees Celsius. Total investment is VND270 billion (US$13 million) with the labour force of 2,500 workers.
The plant specializes in processing shrimp products for exports, particularly value-added products such as shrimp sushi, shrimp “cook & bil”, Nobasihi, shrimp ring, breaded shrimp and HOSO, HLSO shrimp products.
The plant meeting international quality standards was established to satisfy shrimp demand from “demanding” markets like Japan, Germany, France and the U.S. After nearly 4 years of construction, the plant is officially in operation, Truong Huu Thong , General Director of Thong Thuan Co., Ltd said.
Thong Thuan Co., Ltd has many experiences in seafood production and trade activities. The establishment of the shrimp processing plant in Ninh Thuan province by the company is suitable to the province’s socio-economic development strategic orientation towards 2020. The plant helps to create jobs for local workers, raise provincial budget revenue, contributing to the development of the locality, Luu Xuan Vinh, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of Ninh Thuan People’s Committee emphasized.
After the plant’s operation, leaders of the company and the plant need to assure its highest quality, productivity and efficiency for exports while strictly implementing regulations on waste and sewage disposal, ensuring standards of environmental hygiene along with safety and fire prevention regulations.
