The harvested output of marine shrimp farming in May is estimated at 19,021 tons, accumulated in the first 5 months of the year is 21,559 tons, up 7 times over the same period in 2020.
In May, it was estimated that the new stocking area of the form of intensive pangasius farming reached 95 hectares, the harvest was estimated at 13,500 tons, the cumulative output in the first 5 months of the year reached 82,900 tons. Currently, the price of raw pangasius has decreased slightly compared to April 2021. Farmers and businesses have prepared to release seeds for the 2021 crop.
Giant freshwater shrimp: It is estimated that in May, the harvested output is about 115 tons. In recent times, the price of raw giant freshwater shrimp has been stable and quite high, so farmers have switched to stocking this species.
For mollusks: It is estimated that in May 2021, the harvested output of clams will reach 1,220 tons, the cumulative output in the first 5 months of the year will reach 5,158 tons, up 17.3% over the same period. The price of commercial clams is currently fluctuating at a very high level.
In addition, there are other species of farming such as red tilapia, caged Lentils, and eel that have grown quite well with stable prices at a high level, which has contributed to increasing people's income. Estimated yield of these species in May is 1,105 tons.
