Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province: Aquaculture production in May 2021 reached 1,553 tons, up 4.8%

According to a report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the total area of aquaculture in the province in May 2021 reached over 6.2 thousand hectares, bringing the output of aquaculture production in the month to 1,553 tons, up 4.8% over the same period in 2020.

In May 2021, the province's extensive farming area is 711.3 ha, improved extensive farming 5,174 ha, semi-intensive farming 122 ha and intensive farming 286 ha.

Cumulative aquaculture production in the first 5 months of the year was 7,992 tons, up 4.6% over the same period. In which, whiteleg shrimp production increased the most at 24.9% over the same period, equivalent to an increase of 413 tons.
