The province’s total shrimp farming area is estimated at around 137,000 hectares. Authorities are steering development toward sustainability, with proactive seasonal planning and increased application of science and technology to reduce risks and adapt to climate change.
To improve efficiency, the province encourages a shift from traditional farming to advanced models such as multi-stage farming and the use of larger post-larvae for stocking. It is also promoting nursery and pre-growing systems before commercial farming to enhance survival rates and reduce disease risks.
