Mekong Delta increases the area of farming pangasius towards GAP
(seafood.vasep.com.vn) From traditional farming area, now pangasius farmers have boldly invested, converted to production under the model of Good Agricultural Practice (GAP).
Up to now, the Mekong Delta has more than 3,700ha of pangasius farming area under GAP model, accounting for about 70% of the total pangasius farming area of the whole region. An Giang province is one of the pioneers and effective implementation of this model with more than 450ha of pangasius farming area in the direction of VietGAP, GlobalGAP, ASC and BAP.
The shift from traditional and small-scale production to concentrated production, following the food safety and hygiene process, traceability of famer will improve the value and competitiveness of Vietnamese pangasius products.
