[Video] US DOC to finalise shrimp petition

The U.S. Department of Commerce or DOC scheduled to give the final conclusion on the anti-subsidy petition against the frozen warm water shrimp imported from Vietnam and six other countries. The DOC started the investigation into alleged import subsidies back in January this year following request by the Coalition of Gulf shrimp industries. In a comment in May, the DOC asserted that five out of seven countries involved to subsidize the shrimp export should become upcoming decision. The repercussion for Vietnamese shrimp industry will be significant. In detail, Vietnam's exporters will suffer for an average of 6 percent in the anti-dumping tariff. Vietnam is generally the fifth largest shrimp supplier of the U.S, accounting for seven percent market share.
