Binh Dinh: Seafood capture production hits 144,200 tons in first half of 2025

(sea.food.com.vn) In the first six months of 2025, Binh Dinh's total seafood capture production is estimated at 144,200 tons, marking a 3.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Aquaculture production reached approximately 7,100 tons, up 8%. Notably, shrimp farming contributed 4,700 tons, a 10.3% rise year-on-year, achieving 44.8% of the annual target.

Currently, Binh Dinh province has a total of 5,925 registered fishing vessels, including 1,893 inshore vessels, 836 nearshore areas and 3,196 offshore zones. Fisheries inspection and monitoring activities have continued to be strengthened.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment has issued notices to localities and relevant agencies to coordinate in managing fishing vessels. This effort aims to enhance compliance with legal regulations and effectively contribute to the fight against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
