Binh Dinh: Aquatic product output increases slightly
(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the Binh Dinh Statistics Office, the total aquatic product output in August 2024 is estimated at 28,738.6 tons, up 2.2% (up 614 tons) over the same period. In the first 8 months of 2024, the total aquatic product output is estimated at 201,433.1 tons, up 2.7% (up 5,366.8 tons).
In August, the weather and fishing grounds were favorable; most offshore and nearshore fishing vessels achieved good output. The province currently has 4,862 fishing vessels operating at sea, of which 3,394 operate offshore. In key fishing grounds, the offshore fishing fleet operates effectively, especially in occupations such as tuna fishing, purse seine, trap net, squid fishing (exploiting species such as tuna, mackerel, octopus, black carp, octopus, cuttlefish, etc.). The estimated output of aquatic products is 192,259.2 tons, up 2.7% (up 5,005.6 tons); of which, the output of marine aquatic products is estimated at 190,172.1 tons, up 2.7% (up 4,949.9 tons) with the output of ocean tuna is estimated at 9,992.3 tons, up 2% (up 197.3 tons) over the same period.
