Tuna export value to this market in September reached US $ 2.1 million, up 19% over the same period in 2018. Therefore, the total value in the first 9 months of 2019 still increased by 7.3% compared to the same period in 2018, reached nearly US$21 million.

This figure decreased by nearly 12% compared to the same period in 2018. Vietnamese canned tuna exports to EU countries have largely decreased over the same period in 2018.

Thus, July is the 7th consecutive month that Vietnamese tuna exports have increased compared to the same period in 2018.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2018, Vietnamese tuna exports to the US decreased continuously in the first half of the year. By contrast, in 2019, tuna exports to this market grew steadily. Tuna export value to this market in the first 6 months of 2019 climbed by 61% over the same period in 2018, reaching US$159 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to statistics of the International Trade Center (ITC), after the decline in the first 2 months of 2019, US tuna imports increased continuously. Total tuna imports of the country in the first 8 months of 2019 reached 185 thousand tons, worth US$1.3 billion.
