Therefore, in the first 5 months of the year, tuna exports still decreased by 31% compared to the same period last year, reaching more than 317 million USD.

Tuna export value in this month only reached $67 million, down 38% compared to the same period in 2022. The UK is currently the 15th largest single tuna import market of Vietnam.

The value of Vietnam's tuna exports to this market in February increased by 58%, reaching nearly 1.6 million USD. This figure contributed to bringing the total tuna export turnover to this market in the first two months of 2023 to nearly $2.5 million, up 4% over the same period.

Tuna export turnover to this market continuously increased in the first 2 months of the year, reaching more than 5 million USD, up 47% over the same period in 2022. This has helped Germany become the 3rd largest single tuna import market of Vietnam in this period.

(seafood. vasep.com.vn) In January 2023, Japan was one of the few tuna import markets of Vietnam that maintained a good growth rate. Vietnam's tuna export value to this market reached nearly 2.3 million USD, up 38% over the same period in 2022.

However, the export of other processed tuna products HS code 16, mainly frozen steamed tuna loin, increased by 25% over the same period in 2022 and became the second largest exported tuna products of Vietnam.
