Vietnam is currently the 4th largest tuna supplier to Chile after Thailand, Ecuador and China
Vietnam is currently the 4th largest tuna supplier to Chile after Thailand, Ecuador and China. This year, due to a sharp decrease in tuna supply from Ecuador to Chile, this country tends to increase imports from other countries including Thailand and Vietnam.
In the first half of this year, inflation in Chile was at 2.1%, a low level in the past 3 years. By the end of June 2023, the consumer price index in this country continued to decrease, which is boosting consumption in this country.
Vietnam, with its import tax advantage as committed in the CPTPP agreement, will be a strength for businesses to expand their business in this market. Therefore, Vietnam's tuna exports to Chile will continue to grow well in the last months of the year.
