Phu Yen: Sharp increase in tuna catch
(vasep.com.vn) Since the early July 2014, tuna catch by fishermen in Phu Yen province reported a sharp increase, bringing the revenue of VND200-400 million for each fishing trip, according to provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Each tuna fishing vessel yielded 60 pieces with the weight of 60-110 kilogram per piece. Compared to the previous years, tunas caught this year have large size. As a result, its price increased by VND20,000-40,000 per kilogram.
With higher tuna price, each local fisherman can earn VND20 million for one month fishing trip.
