(vasep.com.vn) On 20th of September 2013, the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) determined that a U.S. industry is neither materially injured nor threatened with material injury by reason of imports of frozen warmwater shrimp from China, Ecuador, India, Malaysia, and Vietnam that the U.S. Department of Commerce (US DOC) has determined are subsidized.

(vasep.com.vn) According to Vietnam Customs, in the first 8 months of 2013, Vietnam shrimp exports totaled US$1.73 billion, up 22 percent on that of the same period of 2012. Since the second quarter of 2013, shrimp exports have recovered and reported continuous growth on par with that of the the same month of last year. In August this year, shrimp shipment generated US$335 million, marking the sharpest growth of 65.5 percent. Shipment of whiteleg shrimp increased 3-fold compared to the same month of 2012.
