Vinh Long People Committee has approved an investment of VND17.676 billion in a rice-aquaculture project in an area of 776ha, including 660ha for agriculture production and aquaculture practices in Hieu Phung commune, Vung Liem district.
The project sets a target to speed up restructuring the local agriculture production, shifting from rice cultivation to rice-fish model, increasing land efficiency, and creating more jobs for local people.
The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is assigned to be the investor of the project that scheduled to start in 2010. (VietFishNews)
