The export value of Vinh Hoan reached US$41 million in August, an increase of 85% over the same period last year.
Export volume increased by 27% thanks to abundant supply during the harvest season and average selling price remained high so the export value increased 85% over the same period.
In all products, the value of pangasius fillet exports almost doubled. That of other products also grew strongly, such as fish meat and fish oil (73%), collagen and gelatin (174%).
Regarding the situation of Vietnam pangasius industry, by mid-August, Vietnam pangasius exports reached nearly USD 1.3 billion, accounting for 26% of total Vietnam seafood exports.
Major export markets for pangasius are China, USA, Europe and Southeast Asia. As of August 15, export value to the US reached $287 million, up 24%; to China got US$283 million, increased 38%.
