Brazil surpassed the U.S. to become the largest destination of South Vina Pangasius with more than US$2 million, followed by Netherlands US$852,000, the U.S. US$638,000, and Germany US$346,000. This was because the company reduced Pangasius exports to the U.S. in March.
In March alone, South Vina shipped 1,162MT of finished products, worth US$2.6 million. Exports to Brazil amounted to US$1.6 million, while Mexico, a large importer in 2009, only imported 23.6MT of Pangasius, valued at US$67,200.
Besides, South Vina maintained Pangasius exports to Canada, Cyprus, and the Philippines.
According to business plan, South Vina targets to increase Pangasius export volume to 1,200MT in April 2010.
