However, the company could not reach its set target because all input cost were rocketing and export prices to most foreign markets were unchanged or even got drop.
According to South Vina business report, until the end of October, it traded abroad 15.5 thousand MT of pangasius for total revenue of US$41.3 million, in which the U.S, Brazil, the Philippines and Mexico were the company’s main markets.
In October 2011, South Vina exported more than 2,100 MT of finished products, equal to VND5.45 million, an export record in 2011.
Currently, pangasius price in Mekong Delta climbed to its peak of VND29,000 per kilogram. At this price, many processing companies are purchasing raw fish in modest volume and others fell into trouble while signing contract at lower price due to no prediction of spike of fish price.
