Regulation on 83 percent humidity on exported pangasius was delayed
On the last day of 2014, at the regular meeting of government, the new regulation on ice glazing of 10 percent and 83 percent humidity on exported pangasius products under Decree of No. 36, effective on January 1 2015 was decided to delay untill next year 2016 by the government.
Previously, some pangasius exporters in An Giang Province have filed a petition to the government asking to delay the effective date of the decree by a year.
Seafood businesses say they acknowledge that the new rule is intended to increase the quality of Vietnamese pangasius exports, but it should have been implemented in a pilot scheme to measure the market reaction before being officially put into effect.
