Phu Yen’s value-added processed puffer fish products are expected to turn over 400 MT in 2014
On November 12, 2012, Mr. Le Van Truc, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee said the Taesan Aqua-Products Processing and Trading Limited Company would join hands with the province to implement a pilot program on puffer fish fishing, farming, purchasing, processing and exports in 2012-2015.
Output of value-added processed puffer fish is expected to hit 400 MT by 2015. With average price of US$5-10 per kilo, the province will earn about USD2-4 million a year, creating jobs for more than one thousand people in Tuy An and Dong Hoa districts as well as Song Cau town and Tuy Hoa city.
