(vasep.com.vn) As of June 30th 2015, in Mekong Delta, pangasius farming area expanded by 1,959 hectares, up 0.21% year on year.
On the harvested area of 1,857 ha yielded 516,140 MT , up 1.22% year-on-year. Dong Thap, Ben Tre, An Giang and Can Tho make up about 88% of the total area and production in the delta.
Through May 2015, pangasius exports reached over US$ 616 million, down 9.6% year-on-year. The US accounted for 21.8% of total pangasius exports from Vietnam with the value of US$ 134.6 million, up 6.4% y-o-y. The EU spent US$ 118.95 million, down 15.6 % y-o-y, accounted for 19.3% of total pangasius exports from Vietnam. ASEAN, China and Canada remained stable growth rates.
