(vasep.com.vn) Positive signals have been seen in pangasius production in vertical link after 5 months of implementation. The first pilot project in Mekong Delta showed positive signals.
The project has brought better profit for farmers while the company also gain benefits from this production chain.
This production chain was granted a mortgage loan in August 2014, which valued VND 234 billion at interest rate of 7% per annum. This linkage is owned by Thuan An Production Trading and Service Co.Ltd (Tafishco).
This link creates a complete supply chain from hatcheries, fish farms, processors and retailers.
"Joining the link chain, farmers are fully supported capital, feeds and post-harvest activities", said Mr. Nguyen Van Tan, 1 of 5 farmers participating in the link chain. And pressure for capital, raw material and traceabilty would be reduced.
Products, satisfying VietGAP standards or GlobalGAP while being easy for traceability, are then favored in high-end markets.
