Export increased sharply in major markets (EU, United State, Asean, Ukraine, etc...), except for Russia and Australia. Value of export to Ukraine grew by 224%, to EU by 43.5%, to Asean by 39.2%, while to Russia by only 2%.
Pangasius export to Ukraine in the period stood at 8,200 MT, an increase of 268%. Vietnamese pangasius have potentials to achieve high export growth in this market in future. However, average export price to Ukraine was 1.78 USD per MT, the lowest level among those of markets.
United State accounted for only 5.8% total pangasius exports of Vietnam. Vietnam and China are 2 bigest suppliers to this market, accounting for more than 80% of America’s import. Vietnam continues to be the biggest supplier of frozen pangasius fillets to US, followed by Thailand with 12% and Malaysia with 3% and other market accounted for remaining 3%.
