Navico: Signs more new contracts

Navico’s Deputy General Director, Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhat, said the company-run four Pangasius export processing plants in Can Tho and An Giang resumed operation on February 19 after Lunar New Year, and more than 6,000 workers began again their work.

Mr. Nhat added after a difficult period in the beginning of 2009, Navico strived to expand consuming market with a diversifying strategy, consequently, in the beginning of 2010 the company has inked many new contracts with much larger volume compared with those of the end of 2009.

According to Vietnam Customs, in 2009, Navico shipped more than 46,000MT of Pangasius for a value of US$84.829 million. Navico was the third largest Pangasius exporter of the country, only behind Hung Vuong Corp and Vinh Hoan Corp. Navico was the fourth largest seafood exporter of Viet Nam, behind Minh Phu Seafood Corp, Hung Vuong Corp and Vinh Hoan Corp.
