Mekong Delta: Improving pangasius broodstocks
(vasep.com.vn) The Directorate of Fisheries (D-Fish) has recently sent localities the official letter on the management of selected pangasius broodstocks in Mekong Delta.
Accordingly, Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development in the region are asked to direct relevant districts to inform all local pangasius hatcheries the regulations on pangasius broodstock management.
D-Fish expects to replace all of old and low quality pangasius broostocks by the selected ones by the end of 2015. Mekong Delta provinces have to report the number of pangasius hatcheries in their localities and their needs of new broodstock generation in 2014 to the Research Institute of Aquaculture No.2 (RIA2).
