(vasep.com.vn) As of 25 June 2014, HungCa Co., Ltd has the total of 4 pangasius farms certified by VietGAP standard with the total area of 104.8 hectares and estimated production of 41,800 MT.
A farm with the area of 25 hectares is located at Tan Cong Sinh commune, Tam Nong district, Dong Thap province; others include Cau Tong Dai fish farm with the area of 16.7 hectares at Phu Tho commune, Tam Nong district, Dong Thap province; Tan Hoi Trung fish farm with the area of 35 hectares at Tan Hoi Trung commune, Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap province and My Hiep fish farm with the area of 28.1 hectares at My Hiep commune, Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap province.
The company continued to complete VietGAP standard application program. Costs for fish farmed under VietGAP are 2 - 3 percent higher than that farmed under traditional model, however, fish farmed under VietGAP are safe and sold at higher price.
The company targets to get all of its pangasius farming areas certified by VietGAP, according to Mr. Tran Van Hung, General Director of the company.
