(vasep.com.vn) Vietnam-based pangasius processor Hung Vuong reported dramatic growth in profit over 2011.Hung Vuong Corporation’s profit after tax hit VND 488 billion (US$23.4 million) last year, up 95 percent year-on-year and exceeding the target by 8 %.
Earning per share increased by 94 percent to VND 6,439 (US$0.31). It net revenue was VND 7,792 billion (US$374 million), an increase of 76 percent compared to 2010 and 30 percent over the year’s target.
Last year, Hung Vuong Corp shipped US$124 million worth of fish to 60 markets worldwide, particularly the EU which accounted for 40 percent of the total export turnover, with Mexico taking 12 percent and the United States 10 %.
The company is the third largest seafood exporter in Vietnam behind shrimp processor Minh Phu Seafood and pangasius processor Vinh Hoan.
