(vasep.com.vn) Hung Vuong Corporation (Hung Vuong Corp) was granted VietGAP certificate for its Hung Chau pangasius farm by the Fisheries Technology and Services Center of Vietnam (FITES) under the Decision No.02/QD-FITES signed by FITES’s director on July 25th 2013.
Located in Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province, the certified farm covers an area of 2.8 hectares of water surface, providing annual production of 4,700 MT.
Hung Vuong Corp applied VietGAP standard for its Hung Chau farm since 2013. This is the second Vietnamese company certified by FITES.
Tien Giang-based firm built up a closed pangasius production chain from pond to table. So far, it has had 25 fish farms across provinces in Mekong Delta such as Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Dong Thap, An Giang, leading to total farming area of 350 hectares of water surface and a production of 120,000 MT per year. Some of its farms were certified to meet international standards like GlobalGAP, SQF 1000, ASC.
VietGAP certification will help the company improve product quality and Vietnam pangasius brand towards a sustainable development.
