Ho Chi Minh City reorganizing fishery production chain

Accordingly, agencies under Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development are required to cooperate with project-involved districts to review the number of fishing boats in the city. The objective is to build up data for the city’s orientations and planning to develop fishing activities along with the capacity of fish stocks in its coastal areas. Assessment of fish stocks and inspections of all fishing activities regulated by the city are also needed.

The Department also coordinated with districts’ relevant agencies to develop a policy to help fishermen working in fishing activities which have negative impacts on the environment and fish stocks to turn to other sectors.
