Export of ornamental carp to the U.S. is enjoying favorable conditions, reported the Agro Consulting and Supporting Center of Ho Chi Minh City. Recently, the HCM City-based Chau Tong has successfully shipped its ornamental carp to this market.
So far, the U.S. has tightened control over ornamental fish imported into this market. Its strict rules over hemorrhagic virus (Spring Virus) have caused numerous difficulties for Vietnamese ornamental fish.
The HCM City-based Chau Tong company has spent more than two years on implementing the stringent inspection procedure regarding veterinary as well as aquaculture, monitored by relevant agencies. Its plan to ship 50,000 ornamental carp in 2010 is viable. (VietFishNews)
