The average export price to this market in September and in the first 9 months of 2010 tended to decrease. Germany is the second importer for Vietnam pangasius and has the most declined import volume and value in EU.
Although Vietnamese pangasius export volume and value to Germany is down, a big retail group in Germany commented they did not have enough pangasius to sell.
It is forecasted that in 2 next years, German will eat more tilapia. The price and quality of tilapia is quite stable but German consumers need time to know more this product. Meanwhile, cobia is a farmed product German concern because it is a quality frozen product but its price is too expensive for this market. Introducing one product to Germany takes time because German need time to study about the quality, taste and how to process of product.
