Fishermen in Phu Yen enjoy bumper catch of tuna, anchovy
(vasep.com.vn) Fishermen in Phu Yen province got good catch of marine anchovy, providing an abundant supply of raw material for fish sauce processing facilities inside and outside the province.
Besides anchovy, fishermen have also hauled in record catches of tuna, 500 MT higher than that of the whole 2011.
For the year to date, Phu Yen farmers have stocked different species of fish on the area of over 2,550 hectares. Aquaculture production of the province was estimated at 4,323 MT; capture production was estimated at 37,000 MT in which ocean tuna reached about 6,000 MT, 500 MT higher than that of 2011.
