(vasep.com.vn) According to D-Fish, in the first 7 months of 2012, the total fish production was estimated to hit over 3 million MT, reporting a year-on-year growth of 5.4 percent.
Through July, total export turnover was estimated to reach US$3.4 billion, up 6.5 percent over that of the same period of 2011.
Marine catch in July was expected to touch 217,000 MT, bringing total capture production in Jan-Jul 2012 to 1,425,000 MT, up 6.8 percent from that of the same period of 2011.
Aquaculture production in July reached 315,000 MT, pushing aquaculture production in the first 7 months of 2012 to 1,653,000 MT, up 5.8 percent over 2011, in which pangasius output was estimated to reach over 635,400 MT on the farming area of 6,031 hectares.
