Down in pangasius farming areas in Mekong Delta

(pangasius-vietnam.com) Through July 2013, provinces in Mekong Delta totaled 5,300 hectares for pangasius farming, reporting an estimated production of 46,000 MT of fishes.

Compared to the same period of 2012, most of these provinces saw drop in fish output due to low demand in the global markets for pangasius, which caused losses of local fish farmers and exporters.

The provinces registering the sharp drop were Can Tho (-25 percent), Vinh Long (-7.9 percent) and Ben Tre (-4.3 percent).
