DATHACO assures raw materials for export
(vasep.com.vn) Dai Thanh Seafoods Co., Ltd (DATHACO) has recently increased its pangasius farming area in Tien Giang province to 70 hectares. The company had enough raw material for processing thank to cooperating closely with fish farmers, according to Ha Van Tin, DATHACO’s Director.
After a period of rocketing price when pangasius reached its peak of VND29,000 per kilogram, price of pangasius was down and remained stable.
However, Mr. Tin said that at this price, enterprises which were relying on outside supply still get into troubles because they can not purchase enough raw fish for processing.
In first ten months of 2011, DATHACO’s fish exports increased 20 percent in value and 30 percent in volume over the same period last year. The EU accounted for almost 80 percent in the company’s total shipments. The rest was traded in Asia and other markets.
